PERMA And The Quantification Of Positive Thinking.

What if you could change your thinking before anxiety and depression take hold and build resilience and positive habits? By promoting Positive Emotion, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning and Accomplishment, or PERMA, the Wellbeing and Resilience Centre in Adelaide's South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute is hoping to accomplish this in over 200 schools in South Australia. "It's not to say that this positive psychology approach can prevent everyone from catastrophic illness," the Centre's director Gabrielle Kelly is quoted as saying in the article 'The Science Behind Happiness and Positivity.' "But there is a whole bunch of other people that, if they are trained to think in a more effective way, may be able to prevent themselves from falling into some of the thinking traps that head people down towards the mental illness curve." I find all of this really interesting, but I am curious what you think. So please take a look at the article and after you do, I hope you will share your thoughts in the Comments section below.
