Montana Summer Institute
Travel & Lodging Information
Summer Institute participants stay at Big Sky Resort, an ideal place to reflect, re-focus, and re-engage in the important work of improving health and safety. Summer activities include hiking, biking, fishing, whitewater rafting, golfing, and horseback riding. Yellowstone National Park is a 45-minute drive away.
Conference Location: The Institute will be held in the Yellowstone Conference Center at Big Sky Resort.
Travel Dates and Times: Please plan to arrive the day before the morning your first session begins. The Pre-Institutes will begin at 9:00 am on Monday, June 22nd. The Main Institute begins at 9:00 am on Tuesday, June 23rd, and ends at 12:00 pm on Thursday, June 25th. Breakfast on all days begins at 8:00 am. If you book a flight from Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport anytime after 3:00 pm that afternoon, you should have plenty of time to get to the airport. Many people choose to return home on Saturday or Sunday to spend more time in the area.
Airport: Bozeman Yellowstone International (BZN) is served by Alaska, Allegiant, Delta, Frontier, and United Airlines. Bozeman is a small but popular destination. The sooner you can make your travel arrangements, the better.
Lodging: A block of rooms has been reserved at Big Sky Resort at special conference rates. Call 800-548-4486 to make a reservation. Make sure to reference the Montana Summer Institute. Group rates are guaranteed through May 24th.
Local Transportation: Big Sky is located 50 miles from the airport. Transportation must be arranged in advance. Big Sky Resort offers a list of local shuttle and car rental services.
